Competition

I love Christmas..love, love, love it..I cant remember when I started the Christmas chain but, I remember why I started it..I felt like Christmas ended before I had a chance to do all of the things that I wanted to do..So, having a chain and having a special activity attached to the link..well, everything I wanted to do for the season...got done..

Some things are completely secular...popcorn and movie night, making reindeer food, and somethings are really Catholic..Having an all white dessert party in honor of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, or putting our shoes out in honor of St. Nicholas' feast day..

It seems that no matter how old they get..they cheer when the Christmas chain is put up..

Tonight we made gingerbread houses..My sweet friend, Beth, made the houses..and we decorated..We laughed until we had tears over some ideas or some spills..It was so fun!

So, now you can judge..The winner gets to stay up 15 minutes later if you are a kid..and go to bed 15 minutes earlier if you are a mommy or daddy..If you need a better look at the house..you can click the picture and get a good look..

Yesterday, we drew secret santa's..I sure hope Mary Grace got me..she does her santa duties all year long..

I vote for #4. If you need tie breakers, my second vote is #1 followed by #2.

I like #4 because of the quality roofing material.

I vote for #4...foundation looks great...you know what they say, if the house is build on a solid foundation, it'll stand forever.

People - please look at number 5 before just absent mindedly casting your votes.

It is obvious that an artisan worked on this masterpiece - notice the snowman (I did a double take when I zoomed in on that creative nuance) staring back at you or the smoke billowing from the fire place (I bet that the others copied that touch from this gifted artist).

Just my 2 cents (I work in a supporting role for the food industry) but the designer of #5 appears to be very gifted gingerbread house genius.

Bravo.

P.S.

#1 and #3 kinda scare me.

What is the status of their fine motor skills?

Or is this more of a mental well being issue?

#3 looks like they put a lot of effort in ridding the world of sprinkles.

I vote for #2. I love candied pineapple slices. It has just the right amount of candy for me.

I wish I could have voted for all of them...they all have such creativity.

Hm - I'll go with #4. Lovin' that chimney! oooh and the snow on the ground too. Not to mention the lamppost in the yard! Second place to #5 for the coolest Frosty the Snowman.

#1 has my vote - it reminds me of my childhood home on the delta in Mississippi, except #1 is a little bit more muddy.

#4 is my choice. Really like the colorful roof, billowing smoke from the chimney, and the snow around the house. #5 is pretty good, but the fireplace looks to be in the middle of the den!! I do like the snowman!
